Capitalism Free India

On a recently concluded  residential course for men and women volunteers of Hindu Swaysmsevak Sangh (HSS) at Nagpur the RSS chief Mr. Mohan Bhagwat said, only India could rescue the world from the clutches of capitalism. “The whole world is in the clutches of capitalism. Only India can rescue the world from this calamity.”

Is this true? Is India in the clutches of Capitalism? Is the world in the clutches of Capitalism? And can only India save the world from that clutch?

To give answer of these questions we must define the term Capitalism first. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as, an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market.

Do we have this economic system in India (or in the World) from which Mr. Bhagwant wants to free all of us? Let us see. Who owns all unowned land in India? Who owns rivers, forests, underground minerals like oil or coal or uranium etc., and other such natural resources in India? Private individuals? Or a group of private individuals called a corporate company? Not at all. They all are owned by the State (aka the government). Do private individuals like my readers and me fully own the fruits of our labor i.e., our hard earned income? No. The state has a right on that income too in the form of income and other such myriad of taxes. This means private individuals in India don’t even own themselves! No matter which sector you look at, private individuals do not own anything.

And the same is true for the whole world.

Now which is an economic system where all resources are owned by the State (aka government)? That system is known as Socialism. Merriam-Webster dictionary again defining Socialism as, a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state.

As we have seen above, in India and the world there is no Capitalism to begin with so there is no question of saving anything from Capitalism! If any saving is required then it is from Socialism of people like Mr. Mohan Bhagwat who, as the following statement from the same event shows, wants to control all of us: The only problem of the Hindu community is Hindus themselves and since Hindus are our own, we will not let them live in unfortunate situation. Mr. Bhagwat doesn’t want us to live in, his subjectively interpreted, unfortunate situation! He will not bother to ask us first whether our situation is unfortunate or not! This is socialist control of highest order. If anything, India needs to save itself from such extreme level of body and mind controls.
